Keep It Short Like we said earlier, no need to ramble with your goodbyes. A resignation letter needs to be simple and short and plainly needs to inform your employer of your intent to quit.2. 10 thoughts for career inspiration
10 thoughts for career inspirationYou must surround yourself with people who will be supportive of you. It must be your family, who will always be there for you. It can be your old friends from high school, if not middle school. They know you (and insecurity wont be an issue). It might be an ex-colleague whom you admired the most in the office. You wont hesitate to tell your small triumphs and seemingly huge setbacks on a drop of the coin. There wont be any reservation on your parte unless you want to comprehend the whole thing. Emotional support is such a huge thing, even for those who believe in themselves so much. Youre halfway to the goal if you have those people behind you.Difficulties can be opportunities. Instead of complaining about it, these moments will prepare you for what lies ahead. Youll have more tasks, and it can be more challenging that the ones youre doing at the moment. You must look forward to it. You can even talk about it with your boss (or your workmates).Take a chance. You might get the opportunity to learn a new skill in the office, which you have trepidation at first. Dont shrink back from it. The current market will find companies looking for people with lots of skills. You must not worry about failure, as your colleagues will guide you along the way. It will remind you of your childhood. No (work) experience will go to waste. You should know, even if youre totenstill a college student. It means doing an odd job or two, which wont earn that much. It can be an apprenticeship that hardly pays at all. It will be volunteering. Embrace the experience. Theres one thing to keep in mind, though. You must have an idea of what you want to do after graduation. This will help you lead to the jobs that will help you get closer to your dream job.Reach out to many people. Youll make new friends, and for a good reason. When you reach that level when you have a long list of (work) experience on your resume, then you will sense that it wont be necessary to update it (and e-mail it to recruiters). Your network can help you make it easier for you. The collaboration will provide you with windows of opportunities. Its up to you to look at it closely and make a good judgment.Always look forward to the coming week. Its called positive thinking. You must adapt the can-do mindset. You wont go that far if you wont give yourself a fighting chance. You must change your perception of time. If work seems forever on some days, then the reason will likely be your awareness of it. Try to distract your mind for a moment. Recall your past trips. Think about the next one. If you dont like the long distance, then imagine your favorite spot in your home.Make a commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Consistency and motivation will be constant problems, but you wont be the only one. Make it an effort. Try to enjoy it as well.Read this post one more time. You might forget it. Read all news

Rage! Why it can be a good thing (seriously)
Rage Why it can be a good thing (seriously)Rage Why it can be a good thing (seriously)Holy f*cking anger. It beats against the inner wall of your chest like it will either melt you from the inside or blow open your sternum altogether. Its beyond anger. Its rage.Rage from injustice. Rage from unfairness. Rage because it doesnt matter, but should. Rage because its elend right. Just, rage.Anger, rage, its intense. Its powerful. And its not a feeling that we let cycle through our emotions very often. We suppress and meditate and tell ourselves not to be angry. And definitely not to let the anger turn to rage.Anger isnt high on my list of feelings. It actually took years before I would even let myself experience that feeling because I hardly knew how to recognize it. And then I had to learn how to handle it when it did rear hot in my life.I got pretty good at handling it. So I knew that when I woke up from my second rage dream in a matter of weeks something welches going on. And yes, appa rently rage dreams are a thing.I was so blistering angry in my dream I can still feel my heart pumping from it now. It was like I couldnt scream loud enough. I couldnt break and throw enough things. And I wanted out of my own body because I was so angry in my dream. Naturally, I woke up and was like holy heck whats going on here (and then promptly Googled meaning of rage dreams to which I got about a million results that said there is no meaning youre just angry. Pretty simple. Ha).Suppressed anger huh? Ok. Ok. Ok. I knew what I was angry about. But I didnt want to be angry because I wanted it to all be fine. I wanted it over. I wanted to move on from the situation. But clearly, I was so mad I was having multiple rage dreams. So I started asking questions. What am I feeling? Why? Why? Why? Those questions led me to my truth. And that truth led me to an outcome Im so proud of. Real proud of.This is the nature of rage. Just like a blazing fire, the intense heat can purify us. If we le t it move through us without letting it destroy, rage can be the alchemy of new understanding. So if youre feeling RAGE, feel it. Ask whats going on. Eventually, youll get clarity. You just might have to get a little angry first.Maxie McCoy is a writer and speaker obsessed with giving women the tools they need to believe in themselves. Dont Fear the Reaper (i.e. the Bar Exam)
Dont Fear the Reaper (i.e. the Bar Exam)Dont Fear the Reaper (i.e. the Bar Exam)Well, were here. The bar exam classes have ended, and you now have two weeks to insert the laws of an entire state into your tired, tired brain.Heres a sampling of questions you may be asking yourselfWhere did the summer go?Why did I go to law school? Why is everything on this page highlighted??Am I going to barf on exam day?The answers are really quite simpleYouve been inside studying. You have no one to blame but yourself.Because you need to know all of itYes.Although the studying is grueling, the real horror of the bar exam is the result of the fear of the unknown. Sure, youve taken tests before (lots of them), but the bar exam is different. You arent in a familiar classroom with recognizable classmates. If youre sitting for the Virginia bar, you will test in a literal thunder dome style arena surrounded by hundreds of strangers (inexplicably) wearing suits. A poor performance on this test wont just scre w up your G.P.A., it feels like it could be career ending. The atmosphere may be unnerving and the stakes may seem higher, but you have been here before. The exam will look exactly like what Barbri, Kaplin and Themis have been forcing you to stare at all summer. The questions may even be written in the same font. The content wont be dramatically different or appear in a radically different form. In fact, some of the actual exam essay questions may be identical to the practice exam questions. Same dumb names, same references to random cities in your state, same facts, and, most importantly, same answers that youve already read and reviewed. Youve been taking the bar exam again and again all summer. These final two weeks are an opportunity to take it a few more times. The more practice questions you do, the more times youve experienced what its like to sit for the bar exam. Dont let the atmosphere or the location of the bar exam distract you. 5 simple strategies for making your mark at your next networking event
5 simple strategies for making your mark at your next networking event5 simple strategies for making your mark at your next networking eventLet your true self shine at networking events and walk away with genuine connections.Thousands of people.Hundreds of vendors.Only two bathrooms. How are you supposed to make your mark at your next networking event?Simple. Spend some of the time making a name for yourself, and spend some of the time helping other people make a name for themselves.Consider these strategies to stand up, stick out and steal the dayLive the brand. You never know when your brand will need to rise to the occasion. Thats why consistency is far better than rare moments of greatness. And yet, living the brand isnt what you think it is. Its not about dressing for success. Its not about converting yourself into a corporate clone. Its not about memorizing some hollow, hackneyed mission statement. Its not about puking your unique selling proposition all over everyone you meet. Its not about integrating a sequence of promises that align with organizational initiatives. All that does is annoy the bejesus out of everybody you meet. The reality is, to live the brand is to leave no doubt in peoples minds about who you are, what you do and what happens when you do it.Do you have answers to those identity elements?Be disarmingly predictable.People trust brands that are predictable. Which means its your job to prove customers right. To confirm their suspicions about the value you deliver and the values you stand for. To become known for a unique way of interacting with the world. Thats all branding is anyway An expectation. A shortcut. A predictable infection. And your challenge is to decide what youre going to breathe into people, then sustain that spirit through every touch point. How predictable is your brand? Because every interaction you have with somebody either adds to, or subtracts from, the overall perception of your brand. What can customers expect abou t your behavior?Make the invisible inescapable. Potential employers dont care what you know, they care how you think, and how your thinking will make their company money. The question you have to ask yourself is How do you express how you think? The good nachrichtensendung is, the available tools for doing so are both easy to access and easy to apply. From blogs to social media outlets to public visibility, your goal is to take whats in your head and get it onto peoples radars, under peoples skin and into peoples hearts. Without that, your thoughts will remain just that Thoughts. And all gorgeous gray matter will go to waste. And every branding effort thereafter will be nothing but winking in the dark. How are you branding your thinking in three dimensions?Be a mirror.Sometimes the best way to infect people is to staple your tongue to the roof of your mouth and let them infect themselves. In my leadership council, we regularly employ the practice of becoming a verbal mirror for the p resenter. By reflecting their reality back to them, using their exact words, not by summarizing, we allow them to see themselves as we see them. In fact, you might even help people become impressed with themselves. What do you reflect back to people?Mood matters.According to a twenty-year study published in Time, emotions can reisepass among a network of people up to three degrees of separation away. Your joy may, to a larger extent than you realize, be determined by how cheerful your friends and their friends are, even if some of the people in this chain are total strangers to you. And so, moods are contagious. The question is whether you infect people with the right one. Consider asking yourself When you walk into a room, how does it change? When you walk out of a room, how does it change? If you asked the five people who spent the most time with you, what one word would they use to describe your mood?Ultimately, going to networking events and careers fairs is more than just being t he life of the party, its also about bringing other people to life at the party. Dont just make your mark, help other people make their marks as well.
